Learning About the Process
Turnkey Automatic Gate Opener Process:
- Step 1: On-Site Consultation (FREE)
- Step 2: Custom Gate & Entrance Design
- During this step, we will use engineered modeling software to give you a scaled drawing of what your custom gate or entrance will look like.
- We will make whatever changes necessary to get the look to be exactly what you want.
- This step in the design process provides many custom options, whether it be adding more detail, cutouts, decorative design work, etc., all of which may increase the cost of the gate and labor involved in handling. Custom gates can vary greatly in price from hundreds of dollars to thousands, therefore this is where having a realistic budget in mind for what you want is important.
- If you have an existing gate, step 2 is skipped.
- Step 3: Automatic Gate Opener Design
- Once we know what kind of gate and entrance you want, we will develop a gate opener system to match your wants and needs for the project.
- Each job is different in its own way and we are glad to recommend the best equipment for the job. For instance, if it is a weekend place with low traffic and a light gate, you can get by with a lighter duty opener compared to a heavy gate with high traffic for daily residential or commercial use.
- Step 4: Estimate
- Once we have all of the information gathered from the above 3 steps, we will draft a HARD estimate for the project. When you receive this estimate, the amounts shown for the various parts of the estimate are final numbers for the job. Outside of changing the scope of work, you will not be billed for any additional cost incurred from the project. We pride ourselves in being professionals and experts in our field, so we hold ourselves to our estimate.
- Due to the fluctuating material costs, length of quote validity varies based on project scope. Give us a call for more information.
- Step 5: Fabrication
- Once you sign and email back the estimate, we begin fabrication on your custom gate if required.
- Custom gate fabrication and painting typically takes on average 3-6 weeks depending on steel availability and back log.
- Step 6: Installation
- Once the gate has been fabricated, material and equipment have been acquired, and a utility locate has been called in, we begin the installation of your entrance, gate, and gate opener. Labor can vary from a couple days to a week or more depending on the size of the project, weather, etc.
- Step 7: Final Walk-Through
- After all of the work is completed, we make sure to meet with you and do a final walk-through of the project. This is to ensure you are happy with the way everything turned out and allows you to ask any remaining questions about your completed entrance.
- We take this time to give complete instructions on how to properly operate your automatic gate opener and accessories, along with programming any customer specific keypad numbers.
